In the past 25 years Gestalt therapy has spread from its early centers in th United States to almost every corner of the globe. Gestaltists from three of these corners - Brazil, the Ivory Coast, and Europe - will talk about how the special characteristics of each of their cultures affects the particular way they practice Gestalt: The richness and challenges of working with culturally diverse groups of Eropeans, finding what is meaningful for people transitioning from an African village to an urban environment, and the influence of the Brazilian social-economic situation on the development of Gestalt. We have much to learn from these voices. |
