Gestalt Therapy Training Program

Welcome to this special issue of Gestalt! featuring the Annual European Summer Residential Gestalt Therapy Training Program of Gestalt Associates Training Los Angeles (formerly under the auspices of the Gestalt Therapy Institute of Los Angeles). We are very pleased to share comments from both our faculty and participants for this special issue celebrating the 30th anniversary of this training program. We especially want to thank Phil Brownell for inviting us to share, what is for us, a labor of love.

For thirty years we have been nurturing, changing and honing this program which by now, may be the oldest ongoing annual psychotherapy training workshop in the world. We are very proud of both what we have done, are doing and have plans to do. We invite anyone in the Gestalt community to join us in discussion, dialogue and/or at our wonderful workshops. Both the level of the training and the warmth of the community is truly a celebration.

We will be presenting articles, personal pieces – some long, some short, poems, journeys and professional impacts. We will also present some of the history of this workshop, our ever-evolving program formats and how we relate to the larger field of psychology, psychotherapy, science and spirituality. We look forward to Summer 2001 in Spain (www.gatla.org). Come join us.
